Bluetooth On The Go
In the United States, Bluetooth gets absolutely no respect. But its technology is growing more and more popular among cell phones, notebooks, and PDAs. Bluetooth enables devices to transmit data within a short distance of each other.
Now, Bluetooth is facing stiff competition from new wireless technology. Referred to as UWB or Ultra Wideband, it promises data transfer of up to 480 MB a second – while most current Bluetooth devices transfer data up to 721 KB a second.
But for the time being, Bluetooth devices are popping up everywhere. Below, we will look at some of the accessories offered with Bluetooth technology.
Making calls while driving A CCM Blue Warrior car kit can make it really easy for you to make call while you’re driving because it becomes a speaker phone when you pair it with your cell phone. It comes with a noise-cancelling microphone and big volume buttons. Although the Blue Warrior is far from sexy or sleek, it’s very practical.
Tuning box made small With the Sony HBM-30, you’ll manage your music and your calls with no problem at all. It pauses your music when you’ve got an incoming call, and you can simply use the its mike to talk to the other line, and this mike can be worn around your neck or clipped to your clothes.
Digital pens With Nokia’s SU-1B digital pen, you can doodle and make hand written notes in ink on a special pad then transmit them from the pad to your Bluetooth phone. Using a pen is so much easier than typing on a cell phone keypad, but the device can cost you some money.
Digital images Make slideshows and view them on a TV or a projector with the Nokia SU-2 image viewer. All you have to do is connect the SU-2 to your TV’s input and use your Bluetooth phone to beam images into it.
It’s easy to set up and use, with a resolution of up to 640×480. The SU-2 image viewer cannot support images with higher resolutions.
And remember that 640 x 480 pixel photos will not look that good on TV screens. You can make slide shows if your cell phone an send batches of photos, but Nokia tells us that it’s also possible if you use sequenced beamed shots.
